The Great Malvern is without a shadow of a doubt the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at; it is everything a hotel should be - and then much more. The building itself is lovely - traditional, timeless, beautifully carpeted in old fashioned style, cosy and homely yet with more than a touch of magnificence. We were lucky enough to stay in The Hideaway which is a beautiful spacious self-contained apartment at the very top of the building furnished with some wonderful and sometimes unusual (loved the wardrobe with the curtain!) pieces of vintage furniture, all very well cared for. This combined with the luxury of the powerful modern shower and great TV provision made it the most comfortable and enjoyable place to unwind and relax - it really did feel like a home away from home. The previous year was the first time we’d stayed here and the room we stayed in then was also very cosy and well appointed. The view from the hotel is great as you can see the Malvern hills looking down high above the town, very cool indeed. As if all this was not enough, the owners of the property Jeremy and Rani (and Beckie, Jeremy’s daughter who works there too) are just the most hospitable people, going out of their way to ensure that your stay is the best it can possibly be - for example we had said that we planned on going to the theatre one evening and they organised some discounted tickets for us, very much appreciated. All the other staff without exception were very friendly and helpful too. Breakfast is a treat here, a wide variety of choice to cater to every taste, plentiful and very tasty, all served by the owners and family themselves and others with the utmost politeness and friendliness. The relaxing music played in the breakfast room also adds greatly to the experience. The food in The Nook, the hotel’s restaurant, and in the hotel’s pub is very good too, would absolutely recommend.

The hotel itself is a short walk from the station and from the start of the hills themselves, with plenty of shops cafes and restaurants nearby. The inside has a very nice cosy feel to it. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was spacious and had quite traditional and warm decoration, while the bathroom -also had a lot of room- was very modern and stylish. Having a corner room [Number 1] also meant two window views of Malvern and its countryside. The room also had a chest of drawers, desk, and wardrobe so good space to store a few days' clothes etc. And the large radiator plus the towel rail quickly heat the room - very welcome as it gets colder outside! I have to have a paragraph for the breakfast. I've stayed at pricier hotels that provide a mediocre buffet, or no breakfast. This hotel has a breakfast room with a lovely atmosphere, with a varied menu of cereal, fruit, yogurt, individual hot breakfast items, and plates like eggs benedict and avocado on toast, along with tea, coffee, juice. I liked the extra touches of tea served in a teapot and coffee served in a cafetiere. As soon as we sat down we were offered a drink, and food orders were taken as quick as we wanted. Food was prepared and served quickly, and it was delicious. I'll almost certainly return to Malvern, and when I do I'll definitely stay here again.

The rooms were very comfortable, spotlessly clean and generously equipped with a good selection of drinks, biscuits and even sweets on the hospitality tray. The bathrooms were modern with lovely showers. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and was superb, served with a smile and good humour from the proprietor! We were pleased that the location was very close to the theatre where our daughter was singing and not far from the station. The staff were all very polite and nothing was too much trouble. We had a delicious meal on our first night, but the restaurant was full booked on the Friday night so it is advisable to book well in advance, although the proprietor kindly recommended another place to eat

A friendly welcome on arrival at this historic character hotel & were given efficient directions to find the room with lift available. Modern facilities, warm atmosphere with evening meal available but only until 8pm (didn't sample it so can't comment). Close enough to town centre for shops & restaurants. Clean, & spacious en-suite with good water pressure despite being on a high floor. Wifi in the nicely furnished bedroom with phone link to reception & decent hospitality tray. Everything cleaned & well presented apart from a rather smeared dressing mirror.

Great location - right in the centre of Malvern. Really friendly staff and very helpful. Great breakfast - cooked to order with amazing hotel recipe muesli - best I've ever had! We had the 'hideaway' room which actually had 3 bedrooms & a lounge - way more than we expected - very comfortable and great top have a space to relax in. There was also a fridge to keep our drinks cool. Hotel bar was nice and relaxed and a decent pint too. Right next door to a Wait rose & B&M stores so everything on your doorstep.
